CHAT

Sat Jul 09, 2016 5:46 pm

Okay its known that there are many chat websites and rooms. Imagine a world with a Gamebuino chat room!
instead of posting a post on the forum and waiting for an answer just ask the community directly and this will also aid the union of the community...

basiclly this is and unofficial site that currently me, Sorunome, and 3 others are using... This can also be easily implemented into the site itself. If not we can try XAT.

also here is the link

http://webchat.quakenet.org/??randomnick=1&channels=gamebuino&prompt=1&uio=OT10cnVlJjExPTcyb7

This is a good suggestion, I agree.

Btw. there's something I want to discuss with you guys, but I don't understand how to join the chat room with the link you provided.
It just says == +++ Your IP address is BLOCKED by our DNS blacklist!
(I won't spam, don't worry)

That is unfortunately something that none of can change, as quakenet is something externally. However, you could try to proxy your connection somehow.....

You know what, I was thinking...
This is what, QuakeNET chat or something!!? I never heard of it, why don't we make a chat group on something like Slack:
https://slack.com/
It's free, it's popular, it has a good UI, it looks fancy...

IRC is also popular, especially in the programming szene, plus there are already a few members venturing that irc channel ;)

+1 for Slack - I've found it a great real-time complement to other communities... :)

the thing with IRC is that there are so many different clients, if you don't like one you can just pick a different one. Also open source :3

What now, should I make a slack Gamebuino chat group?
I'll sound like a hater now, but QuakeNET looks like something from 2000:
Anyway, i'll try to join you guys in some way. Hopefully not proxying my connection... I'm too lazy for that

Actually, IRC itself is from 1988 :P

I dunno if all this is necessary... The PM system allows for entire groups to chat, if you choose to add them into the message.
