Great job, very good use of the limited amount of pixels. The classic space invaders was white on black, it might be worth it to try reversing the colors (or making that an option in the game).

Great rendition!
Fits a lot of enemies on screen.
I´d prefer to use less enemies on screen in exchange of a bit bigger gfx for them.

Yeah, that would also be an option. Bigger sprites would look better for sure.
In this version, I kept the original number of enemies and also the original distance and smaller size of the top-row in order to get the gameplay authentic.
