Advice on general approaches or feasibility and discussions about game design

Hello every one !
I think I will start a new game project that is to adapt Quoridor to the gamebuino.
This game can be play 1v1 or 1v1v1v1. I think the hardest part of this project is to dev the IA.
I have two questions :
Can I use the name Quoridor or do I have to change it for Quoruino :p ?
What do you think about this adaptation ?
Here are the basic graphisms I've done :

I haven't heard of this game ever, but it seems cool. You porobably might not have to change the name to Quoruino, because it's just a "fan-project" per-say.

That is a nice looking board game and a good adaption!
I was bored and made a few isometric doodles. Sadly it looses all aesthetic appeal of the wooden board and is not as recognizable with the low screen resolution. Here it is anyway:

Superb Marcus! Maybe add some dither to it?
All studies look great as they are.

Wow, in fact the isometric vision is much better. But I think it don't fit in the screen. The question is, would you like to play this game ? I'm agree that the wood is better, but here it's just a way to spend some time
So... I tried, and it definitely don't work well on the 84x48px screen. So I'll keep my design, taking some piece of your if you are agree of course Marcus

Hi,
the design is made to fit into the 84x48 screen resolution, what is the problem?
But 2D is much easier to recognize as the screen resolution of the Gamebuino is a bit low to make it detailed enough.
If you can use any of the graphics feel free to use them.
I love strategy games, but have no Gamebuino - yet.
@Erico: Thanks! I experimented with dithering but it made it less recognizable due to the small details, but I am not the best at dithering.
One thing I could try is lower walls so the fields behind them are better visible.
