Do you think the isometric one will be too problematic in regards of overlaps and recognizability? It would allow 12 tiles in width and 15 in height (when letting the sprites overlap) which would be neat.
Another idea that would be quite easy to accomplish:
Simply let the player switch between 2D and Iso/2.5D, perhaps assign a toggle button.
Displaying the larger isometric sprites in a 2D grid would not require much change (at least no need to draw different sprites, just let the graphic engine output a simple grid map).
this way the user can switch to a 2D view if there are a lot of overlapping units currently on the screen.
(Denkst du isometrisch würde zu viele Probleme machen, in Hinsicht auf Verdeckungen und Erkennbarkeit? Es würde 12 x 15 Kacheln erlauben, was ansich recht nett wäre). Eine weitere Idee die recht einfach umsetzbar wäre:
Den Spieler zwishen 2D und 2.5D umschalten lassen, ggf. mit einem Taster.
Die größeren Isometrischen Sprites auf einem 2D Raster darzustellen würde kaum Mehraufwanf bedeuten (zumindest müsste man keine extra Grafiken zeichnen, nur das Programm eine 2D Karte ausgeben lassen)
Auf diese Weise könnten Spieler zu 2D wechseln, sollten sich gerade viele Einheiten überdecken.
