Enjoy games at full speed with sound and lights on the Gamebuino META!
Emulator by aoneill
It's almost Valentine's Day!..... And so a great opportunity to offer a Gamebuino META to your beloved: -)
And just before offering it to him or her, install and launch this little game to increase the surprise effect with the pretty little animation that will appear on the splash screen!
Press button A to start the game....
It is a small inverted breakout... the bricks are small hearts aligned at the bottom of the screen, and the paddle is located on the upper part of the screen. The controls are also reversed:
- button LEFT to slide the paddle to the right
- button RIGHT to slide the paddle to the left
You'll see that it's not that easy... Will you be able to destroy the whole wall?... Not so sure ;-)
A very simple little game, which gives me the opportunity to propose you an example of a rendering engine for the High Definition of the META screen. By taking a look at the code, you will discover how to manage the display of a wallpaper and a collection of sprites, animated by a motion calculated using simple kinematic equations implementing the notions of acceleration and deceleration. I hope it will inspire you to create fun little games by taking advantage of all the capabilities of the META with High Definition.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to use Andy's emulator to test it... because it doesn't support High Definition correctly :-(
UPDATE OF 02/10/2019
A small bug could occur when launching a new game. Indeed, by pressing the A button too early (when the paddle had not yet finished its course when it appeared on the game screen), the ball not yet being instantiated, a Hard Fault (error 2) could occur... This is now fixed, and you can see the corrections I made directly in the code by looking at this commit.
