Hi, hi,
I feel like I should do something to the Wenge wood skin that came with my new Meta. (haven't actually put it on yet)
I live in a very humid environment (humidity of 70%+ is pretty normal here) That means that certain materials, natural, porous, rough and tough materials (and paper) fare poorly here. If they're not constantly dusted, kept clean, and aired, they'll grow mildew and stuff. (Cork and raw leather are basically impossible to keep)
Anyway, so I'd like to ask if the wood is already treated in some way or another? Anti-fungal? oiled? Stained, or varnished? (I'm really not sure from the smell)
In addition, Mod all the things, right! ? While the wood looks classy and will appeal to most, I can't help but wonder if I shouldn't stain it....maybe purple. (Och, I have a longboard with dark-stained purple heart veneer ... so ... good.
Anyway (again), any info would be appreciated.

The wood is 100% natural, not treated.
Be careful that if you dampen it with stain, il might come off from the adhesive. If you let it dry and press it back against the adhesive afterward, it might help.
Please share your mods, there are even the right tags already when you make a Creation :)

Hey hey,
Guess who already finished their wood skin mod, and also modded the D-Pad with a cover and rubber insert for better fit (as described here: https://gamebuino.com/creations/spruced-up-d-pad )
It's me, and it looks like this:
Tomorrow, I'll write and post instructions, so everyone can do the same, no worries. For now, good night.

I would add some Foam Sealing around the Display to protect it against dust ....
